Got stoked on seeing some FLIR images on the cruiser forums for use in diagnostics. Looked up the prices and wasn’t looking practical. but
B&H is doing deals on FLIR devices right now.
Now Im kinda interested.

Very cool! I always keep a IR laser thermometer in the wagon. Back when I had the hotbox B5 S4, I always thought it would be fun to see it through a FLIR.
I was a volunteer Firefighter, and they had them on all the trucks, but that chapter in my life is closed so i dont have ready access to such equipment anymore.

I’ve wanted one of these for quite a while.
But even in CAD that’s too much for me for what’s essentially a toy. As it happens it’s in USD. $940+shipping and taxes=NOPE.

Check your local Home Depot, some rent FLIR cameras.

Clearly its thermal camera day for me. My director came up to show us his latest purchase, because we are all excited by shiny things. http://www.flir.com/flirone/ios-android/
Bought that and was really impressed with the results. We have the bigger FLIR camera, about £600 or so but we couldnt really spot the difference between the two, although we werent exactly rigorously comparing them.

I just so happen to have ordered a FlirOne yesterday and should be getting it tomorrow. I have had my eye on one for quite some time and finally decided to pull the trigger.
